Ada College of Education Entry Requirement for 2022/2023 Academic Year

The Ada College of Education entry requirement for 2022/2023 academic year has been released. Applicants who want to get admitted into the College must meet the entry requirements.

Ada College of Education is a teacher education college in Ada-Foah. The college is located in the Eastern/Greater Accra zone. It is one of the 46 Public Colleges of Education. The college participated in the DFID-funded T-TEL programme. The college has its accreditation from the University of Cape Coast

Colleges of Education admissions for the 2022/2023 academic year are not yet ongoing. But before application, applicants must know the entry requirements and qualifications needed.

Ada College of Education Entry Requirement for 2022/2023 Academic Year

Prospective students should endeavor to check the entry requirements before applying for admission. The requirement will give you first-hand information on getting admission.

1. WASSCE /SSSCE Qualification Applicants

The general requirement for admission to the Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) Programme is as follows:

  • WASSCE Holders: CREDIT PASSES(A1-C6) in Six (6)subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including
    • English Language
    • Core Mathematics,
    • and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study.
  1. SSSCE Holders: PASSES (A-D) in Six (6) subjects comprising Three (3) Core subjects, including
    • English Language
    • Core Mathematics,
    • and Three (3) Elective subjects relevant to the course of study

2. General Certificate of Education (GCE) Advanced Level Applicants

Applicants must have

  1. passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better).
  2. credit passes (Grade 6) in five GCE Ordinary Level subjects including
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Science subject (for non-science students) and an Arts subjects (for Science students)

3. Advanced Business Certificate Examination (ABCE) Applicants

Applicants must have

  1. passes in three (3) subjects (at least, one of the passes should be Grade D or better).
  2. credit passes in five (5) subjects including
    • English Language
    • Mathematics
    • Integrated Science or Social Studies in the General Business Certificate Examination (GBCE)

4. Technical and Vocational Education and Training Applicants

Applicants must:

  1. Possess Certificate II in three (3) relevant trade areas awarded by TEU, NVTI, City & Guilds, and other authorized awarding bodies in addition to NABPTEX Certificate II in lieu of passes in English and Mathematics.
  2. Have NABPTEX Certificate II in relevant trade areas in addition to three (3) credit passes in WASSCE/SSSCE core subjects including English and Mathematics.
  3. Posses a National Certificate II qualification in Competency-Based Training (CBT) in a relevant trade area awarded by TEU on the National TVET Qualification Framework (NTVETQF).

5. Foreign Qualifications

  1. All foreign qualifications should be referred to the National Accreditation Board (NAB) for determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission to Teacher Education Institutions in Ghana.
  2. It should be noted that the American SAT, TOEFL, etc. cannot in themselves be acceptable as entry qualifications into Ghanaian tertiary educational institutions.
