Entry Requirements for Undergraduate Programmes
West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) Candidates and Senior Secondary School Certificate Examinations (SSSCE)
The general requirements for admission of WASSCE and SSSCE candidates to first degree programmes are three (3) credit passes in three core subjects and three (3) credit passes in three relevant elective subjects.
WASSCE Candidates:
- Credit Passes (A1-C6) in six (6) subjects comprising three core subjects, including English language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
- SSSCE Candidates: Passes (A-D) in six (6) subjects comprising three (3) core subjects, including English and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.
- Candidates with D7 in three (3) subject including English Language, Mathematics (core) or three(3) relevant elective subjects are advised NOT to apply for the Degree programmes.
- For non-science programmes, a grade in Social Studies may be used in place of the grade in Integrated Science in the calculation of their aggregates if the Social Studies grade is better than the grade in Integrated Science. This is however on condition that the candidate has D7 or E8 in Integrated Science.
- For Science Programmes, however, Social Studies does not replace Integrated Science in the calculation of candidates’ aggregates.
Calculation of Aggregates
Below is the WASSCE system for computation of final aggregates. Equivalences are as follows:

Post-degree Bachelor of Laws (LLB) applicants
Candidates seeking admission to 3-years LLB must have a good first degree with a minimum of Second Class (Lower Division) from a recognised or accredited University/Institution.
TVET Candidates
Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) canditated seeking admissions to degree programme must have credit passes in three (3) coresubjects including English language and Mathematics, plus three (3) relevant elective subjects.

All Ghanaian applicants for the 2025/2026 Academic Year admissions are required to use the UBIDS Online Admissions Portal. The procedure for the online application process is as follows:
- Access the SDD-UBIDS Admission portal on this link admissions.ubids.edu.gh.
- Create an application account
- After creating an account, login with your email and password
- Activate Serial and Pin to access the form and continue application
- In completing the online form, students will be required to upload their most recent passport size photograph with white background and relevant certificates
- Applicants are advised to check thoroughly to ensure that all details are entered before finally submitting their online applications. A form, once submitted, can only be viewed, but cannot be edited.
- A completed form is not considered until it is submitted.

- Details of E-Voucher are displayed (UBIDS, serial number, and pin)
FOREIGN QUALIFICATIONS
All foreign qualifications should be referred to the Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), (Accreditation Division) for determination of equivalences and eligibility for admission to tertiary institutions in Ghana (Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), Accreditation Division Act, 2007 [Act 744 (2(2b)])
All non-Ghanaian applicants are advised to apply as follows:

SPECIFICATIONS FOR ADMISSION PICTURE
a. The intended admission Picture must be taken on a white background with both ears showing and without shadow in the background.
b. For religious purpose, scarfs are allowed but both ears must be exposed in the picture.
c. Wearing of glasses/shades are not allowed, except for medical purpose, clear glasses revealing the eyes are permitted.
d. The Picture should have a dimension of 300 x 300 pixels (1 x 1 inch), resolution of 300, JPEG file format and size not more than 500 kilobytes.
