UCC Postgraduates Admission Forms for 2025/2026 Academic Year. Applications are invited from qualified persons for admission into REGULAR (Full-Time) postgraduate programmes at the University of Cape Coast for the 2025/2026 academic year, beginning on February, 2026.
NB: Applicants are to note that the names on their academic certificate(s) should correspond to the names on their application form.
Applicants are to buy E-vouchers which will enable them to apply online. The E-vouchers are for sale at the centres listed below:
Cost of UCC Postgraduates Admission Forms for 2025/2026 Academic Year
- Ghanaian Applicants – GH¢320.00
- International Applicants – USD$100.00

Deadline for the sale of Application E-vouchers and submission of completed application forms is Friday, 15th August, 2025.
Applicants are required to keep printed copies of their application for their own record and reference after submitting the completed online application form. No hard copy should be sent by POST or delivered by HAND to the University.
How to Apply for UCC Postgraduates Admission for the 2025/20236 Academic Year
Applicants should visit https://apply.ucc.edu.gh/ then under “Application Process” select “click to apply for a programme” for further instructions. Applicants should select POST GRADUATE ENTRY under VERIFY VOUCHER, then proceed to select REGULAR MODE to apply.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D)
Candidates seeking admission to PhD programmes must:
- Have an M.Phil or research MA/M.Ed/M.Sc/MBA degree in an appropriate field of study from a recognised university.
- OR MA/M.Ed/M.Sc/MBA degree in an appropriate field, with a CGPA of 3.5 or better with not more than one grade of C+. Also, have scored a B+ or better in the Research Methods course.
- All Non-UCC Alumni are to submit two transcripts (one original) of academic records (UCC Alumni are to provide their registration number).
Other Requirements:
- Submit at least two referee reports, one of whom must be from a former Lecturer.
- Submit a 3–5 page proposal on the intended area of study including references.
- Satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the College/Faculty/School/ Department (e.g., selection interview)
Master of Philosophy/Commerce/Nursing (M.Phil/M.Com/MN) Programmes
Candidates seeking admission to M.Phil/M.Com/MN degree programmes must:
- Have obtained a good first degree (at least a second-class division) in an appropriate field of study from a recognised university/analogous institution.
- All Non-UCC Alumni are to submit two transcripts (one original) of academic records (UCC Alumni are to provide their registration number).
Other Requirements:
- Submit at least two referee reports, one of whom must be from a former Lecturer.
- Submit a 2-3 page proposal on the intended area of study including references.
- Pass a selection interview.
- Satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the College/Faculty/School/Department (e.g., selection interview/ working experience/ a written entrance examination).
Master of Arts/Science/Education/Business Administration (MA/M.Sc/M.Ed/MBA) Programmes
Candidates seeking admission to MA/M.Sc/M.Ed/MBA degree programmes must:
- Have obtained a good first degree (at least a second class division) in an appropriate field of study from a recognised university/analogous institution.
- All Non-UCC Alumni are to submit an official transcript of academic record (UCC Alumni are to provide their registration number).
- Submit the names of two referees, one of whom must be a former Lecturer.
- Satisfy any additional requirements prescribed by the College/Faculty/School/ Department.
Duration of UCC Postgraduates Programmes for the 2025/2023 Academic Year
PhD
36 Months -Full Time
The PhD programme shall consist of two parts. These shall be by one year of course work or directed reading, and two years for thesis writing which shall be a requirement for the award of the PhD.
M.Phil/M.Com/MN
24 Months -Full Time
The M.Phil/M.Com/MN Programmes shall normally extend over four semesters (two academic years) and shall be in two parts. The first part shall consist of coursework for one academic year (two semesters). On successful completion of the first part and on the recommendation of the Department’s Committee on Graduate Studies, a student may proceed to the second part comprising the writing of a thesis which shall be a requirement for the award of the M.Phil/M.Com/MN Degree.
MA/M.Sc/M.Ed/ MBA
15 Months -Full Time
MA/M.Sc/M.Ed/MBA programmes are in two parts. The first part shall consist of two semesters of course work and the second part is made up of writing a dissertation which is a requirement for the award of the MA/M.Sc/M.Ed/MBA Degree
