Update on Colleges of Education Revised Academic Calendar

It has been almost a week since CETAG announced the suspension of their destiny strike and academic activities resumed yesterday 26th August 2024.

The updated academic calendar has not been released since the suspension of the CETGA strike to trainees at the various institutions of education. Trainees were just informed that their remaining days following the strike ban had been extended by two months.

Update on Colleges of Education Revised Academic Calendar

In recent development today 27th August 2024, PRINCOF has released the revised academic calendar for the second semester of the academic year. All teacher training institutions are expected to plan their activities within the given period.

Below are the keynotes of the new development in the revised second-semester academic calendar.

  • Lectures begin and end on 26th August 2024 and 4th October 2024 respectively.
  • End of Semester Examination will commence on 7th October and end on 11th October 2024
  • Continuing students have three weeks to rest from 12th October to 3rd November 2024.
  • The 2024/2025 Academic year begins on 4th November 2024.
  • Level 100s to report in November 2024.
  • The detailed academic calendar for 2024/2025 is to be discussed and presented before 4th November 2024.

All teacher trainees in the 46 public colleges of education should take note of the changes and plan their studies very well.

The updated academic calendar indicates that this semester will be brief and intense. Thus, trainees—especially those in their final year must sufficiently prepare.
