2022 Budget: Ghana Scholarships Secretariat

The Ghana Scholarships Secretariat was established in 1960 as an extra-ministerial body under the Office of the President. The aim of the scholarship is to help Ghanaian students to study locally or abroad.

Every academic year, application windows are opened for students who have gained admission to apply.

The scholarship for the 2021/2022 academic year was spelled out in the 2022 budget. In this article, we will let you know the number of students to be given the scholarship.

Government Scholarships Secretariat awarded local scholarships to a total of 45,000 tertiary students and 1,600 training college students, while 560 students were awarded foreign scholarships.

How Many Scholarships will be awarded for the 2021/2022 Academic Year?

In 2022, the decentralized District Level Local Tertiary Scholarship Scheme will award scholarships to 31,000 students across the country.

27,252 public tertiary students would be awarded the scholarship. Those who are beneficiaries abroad will still be covered by the government.

    When is the application for scholarship for the year 2022 going to be opened?

    The Ghana Scholarship Secretariat has not sent any student for foreign studies this year. Many people have gone for the interview but still no admission list has been released as those who passed the interview for them to go
