KNUST Admission for Undergraduate Top-Up Engineering and Agriculture Programmes 2024

The management of Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology wishes to inform the general public about their ongoing Undergraduate Top-Up Engineering and Agriculture programmes through the Distance Learning Mode. Interested applicants are invited to apply. The deadline date for the application is 30th April 2024.

The Institute of Distance Learning (IDL), Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi informs prospective students and the general public that application e-vouchers for admission to the following Undergraduate Top-Up Engineering and Agriculture programmes of the University through the Distance Learning Mode for the 2024/2025 Academic Year are now on sale. Successful applicants will start in the second weekend of May, 2024.

Programmes on Offer:

Undergraduate Top Up Programmes (Five Semesters)

BSc. Civil Engineering
BSc. Computer Engineering
BSc. Electrical and Electronic Engineering
BSc. Geomatic Engineering
BSc. Mechanical Engineering
BSc. Telecommunication Engineering
BSc. Petroleum Engineering (online only)
BSc. Chemical Engineering (online only)
BSc Agriculture

Entry Requirements:

  • BSc. Civil Engineering
    HND in Civil Engineering from a recognised Technical University or equivalent Diploma from a recognised institution
  • BSc. Computer Engineering
    HND in Computer Engineering/Electrical and Electronic Engineering or Telecommunication Engineering or an equivalent Diploma certificate.
  • BSc. Geomatic Engineering
    HND in Surveying or Diploma in Geodetic/Geomatic Engineering or its equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • BSc. Electrical and Electronic Engineering
    HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering/Computer Engineering/Telecommunication Engineering or an equivalent Diploma certificate.
  • BSc. Mechanical Engineering
    HND or its equivalent Diploma Certificate from an accredited institution in any of the following Mechanical Engineering disciplines:
  1. Production Engineering
  2. Plant Engineering
  3. Automobile Engineering
  4. Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning
  5. Foundry Technology
  • BSc. Telecommunication Engineering
  1. HND in Telecommunication Engineering
  2. HND in Electrical and Electronic Engineering/Computer Engineering/ or an equivalent Diploma Certificate
  • BSc. Petroleum Engineering (online only) 
  1. HND in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Civil Engineering.
  2. First Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry.
  • BSc. Chemical Engineering (online only)
    HND or its equivalent in Chemical Engineering
  • BSc Agriculture
  1. Certificate or its equivalent in Agriculture

*Applicants with Diploma in Horticulture, Agriculture or HND in Agriculture ARE NOT to buy this form (their forms will be sold later)

Cost of Application E-Voucher

The cost of E-voucher for the Top-up Programmes is GH¢250.00 for Ghanaian Applicants and US$150.00 for Foreign Applicants

How to Apply:

Applicants MUST carefully read all the following instructions before starting the application process.

  • Applicants should purchase an online application e-voucher from GCB Bank, ECOBANK or Consolidated Bank Ghana (CBG) and then APPLY ONLINE via https://admissions.knust.edu.gh
    Or dial on all networks short code *447*160# and follow the prompts
  • Applicants should carefully follow the instructions on the e-voucher.
  • Applicants must include in their application pack, Certified True Copies of their Certificates and Transcripts.
  • Only results and documents provided by applicants at the time of submission of their applications shall be considered.
  • Two (2) copies of the completed online forms should be printed and posted to: “The Registrar, Institute of Distance Learning, Casely-Hayford Building, KNUST-Kumasi, Ghana” by Tuesday, 30th April, 2024.
  • Teaching/Facilitation would be a blend of online and face-to-face sessions on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) at the proposed Centres mentioned above.
