When Will Lectures Start in Colleges of Education?
Following the decision of CETAG council members to suspend their indefinite strike action which lasted for about 65 days, academic activities in the colleges of education are expected to start effectively on the 26th of August 2024.
The academic calendar has already been disrupted henceforth, trainees are now on the road to October ending 2024. In recent development, PRINCOF and GTEC had engagement to bring trainees to light as there were issues regarding the academic calendar.
It has been agreed that two months should be added to the remaining days effective 26th August 2024. Therefore teaching training institutions would vacate in the month of October 2024. The detailed academic calendar would be available soon as per reports from PRINCOF.
When will lectures start in colleges of education? As stated above, effective 26th August 2024, academic activities commence.
What Happens to Admission Process and Beginning of Next Academic Calendar?
Initially, the 2024/2024 academic calendar was set to commence in September/October 2024 which will see the colleges of education running the normal academic calendar since the emergence of Covid-19 back in 2021 and increase in enrolment.
However, the strike action by CETAG has caused a lot of mess to the academic calendar. With new development from PRINCOF and GTEC, we are yet to receive the date of the commencement of the academic calendar.
Meanwhile, applications for admission into the 46 public colleges of education are ongoing till 31st August 2024.
