These requirements remain the same for all public nursing training institutions in Ghana.
Are the nursing forms out for 2021?
The 2021 Nursing and Midwifery training applications forms are out. According to the Ministry of Health, the online admissions portal for application will officially be opened from Monday 17th February 2021 to Saturday 30th May 2021.
Is d7 accepted in midwifery?
The answer is NO.
In fact, no school of nursing to date, be it private, state, or federal will accept a D7 or E8 pass or F9 in English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Maths.

Is nursing training forms closed?
Nursing Training Colleg Admission Registration 2021 is scheduled to close (MONDAY, JUNE 18, 2021). The Nursing Training College of Education Application Portal is expected to shut down on the same date at 11:59 PM.
Who qualifies for nursing in Ghana?
Once you meet their admission requirements, you qualify to apply.
NMTC Admission General Entry Requirements
Eligible applicant must;
- be a Ghanaian citizen by birth
- be of good character
- be not less than 18 years of age and not more than 35 years.
- have served for a minimum of five years (if an Ministry of Defence staff)
- have applied for higher education(if a Ministry of Defence staff)
Prospective candidates must;
- pass the SSSCE/WASSCE or its relevant equivalent exam from the West African Examination Council.
- meet the basic programme requirement as specified by the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Ghana and Ministry of Health entry requirements.
- purchase the NMTC online application form.
- be shortlisted with the name appearing on the notice board.
- have passed an entrance examination conducted by the College.
- have gone through a selection interview.
- be offered admission after having passed the selection interview.
Note: Waiting list shall not be transferred to next admission period. The admission requirement is in line with the GAFMS/Ministry of Health policy.
NMTC Admission Requirements, WASSCE/SSCE
- The programme has been designed for SSS/SHS graduates with credits in WASSCE/SSSCE with a requisite aggregate 24/36 or better.
- A Credit in three core subjects, A1 – C6/ A – D in English Language, Integrated Science and Mathematics and credits in any three elective subjects from the following:
- Science Programme
- Mathematics (Elective)
- Physics
- Chemistry
- Biology
- General Arts
- Literature in English
- French
- The Ghanaian Languages
- Economics
- History
- Government
- General Knowledge in Arts
- Christian Religious Studies.
- Home Economics
- Management in Living
- Food and Nutrition
- Biology
- Chemistry
- French
- General Knowledge in Arts
- Agricultural Science
- Physics
- Chemistry
- General Agriculture
- Mathematics (Elective)
- French
- Science Programme
- Age limit – 18years to 35years
- He / She should not have any criminal record
- He / She be of good health
- He / She must pass a selection interview
