Nov/Dec 2022: Areas to Learn for English Language Paper 2 and 1

English Language Paper is an important paper needed to pass before entering into any tertiary institution. Applicants or students without a pass in English Paper will be denied admission.

In this post, we will be discussing Nov/Dec 2022: Areas to Learn for English Language (Core) Paper 2 and 1. We will give the areas or structure of the English Paper.

Candidates are supposed to take keynotes on the structure of the paper. This will help them get the upper hand to prepare for it well. Below is the structure of the English Paper:

2022 NOV/DEC ENGLISH PAPER 2

Paper 2 is made of 100marks but separated into 3 parts. In each part, candidates are expected to answer questions of not more than one. Below are the parts and marks entitled to each

  • ESSAY with 50 Marks
  • COMPREHENSION with  20 Marks
  • SUMMARY with 30 Marks

Essays to expect articles, letters, debates, stories, etc.

2022 NOV/DEC ENGLISH PAPER 1

Paper 1 is made of two parts. Each part is also divided into sections. Let’s see the number of sections in each part and also what is made of the sections.

ENGLISH PAPER 1 Part A

Part A of the English Paper is Lexis and Structure. It is made up of five sections. All questions are attempted since is a multiple choice.

What is Lexis and Structure in English?

Lexis is an aspect of the English language where sentences are predicated on a system of the relationship between words. Simply lexis is the set of all words and phrases in a language. The structure is referred to as the definitely established rules of a language. So that the combination of words can be meaningful in that language.

ENGLISH PAPER 1 Part B

Part B of the English Language Paper is the Literature aspect of it. Sections are categorized under three main parts. These are Prose, Drama, and Poetry.

As far as NOV/DEC 2022 is concerned, We will list the set of books to read in preparation for the English Language.

PROSE

For the 2022 Nov/Dec, the prose aspect will be based on the following books. One of the books must be studied for the examination.

DRAMA

For the 2022 Nov/Dec, the Drama aspect will be based on the following books. One of the books must be studied for the examination.

  • Bill Marshall                                             The Son of the Umbele

POETRY

For the 2022 Nov/Dec, the Poetry aspect will be based on the following books. The poetry aspect consists of poems that are African and Non-African poems. Below are the poems:
